White Noise

“Something’s out there,” he muttered, his palm to the glass. “You’re always saying that,” she said. As long as she’d known him he’d felt it; the lone ant in the ant farm looking outward. “One day I’ll break through and make worlds collide.” And yet somehow, impossibly, she believed him.
